Mid-America Transplant Foundation

Over five years ago, Mid-America Transplant opened the Family House to provide comfortable and affordable mid-to-long-term single-family apartment living for patients and their families who must relocate to St. Louis to receive life-saving pre-and post-transplant care. This residence consists of 10 private apartments where families can live with a caregiver while they wait for or recover from a lifesaving organ transplant. Since 2013, the Mid-America Transplant Family House has served over 210 individuals from 26 states. Contributions made to the Mid-America Transplant Foundation are used to support the Family House and our Aftercare Program which provides bereavement resources to donor families. These generous donations help us carry out our mission to save lives through excellence in organ and tissue donation.

In 2020, Mid-America Transplant was honored to have worked with over 2,500 unique donors. We had a record number of individuals and families say 'yes' to organ, tissue, and eye donation, which led to saving more lives and the opportunity to work with more donor families.

Give STL Day has provided us with the opportunity to spread awareness around organ, tissue, and eye donation, share recipient stories, honor donor families, and share our life-saving mission with the community.
