Acts 1:8 Mission Society

Acts 1:8 Mission Society began 15 years ago acting out of service for individuals within St. Louis (and beyond) communities. Little Bit of Haven grew from an Acts 1:8 Volunteer's vision to help those in need of rest as they comfort and care for loved ones in the hospital. Families facing medical crisis or routine treatments often cannot afford a pricey hotel stay. We are able to lodge up to four families at a time and ask for a $50 a night contribution.

Little Bit of Haven opened its doors four years ago in February of 2014. Since then we have served 288 individuals for a total of 1,732 nights. Just last year, we served 93 individuals with a total of 1,093 nights. We are blessed to be centrally located on South Kingshighway Blvd., just minutes from Children's Hospital and Barnes Hospital. We are also just 2.3 miles from SSM St. Louis University Hospital, and Cardinal Glennon.

Staying at Little Bit of Haven is very much like staying in a long-lost relative's home. The bedrooms were furnished by supporting churches, and the overall feel of the house is like a home away from home. But even more than that, it is a 'Place of Hope and Healing'. Little Bit of Haven volunteers serve with so much joy and care for our families. They bring meals, play games, or just sit and be a listening ear. Our guests have left saying that it is truly a haven, a place of peaceful rest, and truly a home away from home.
