Humanitri

A nonprofit organization

Our purpose is to help families break the cycle of poverty and housing insecurity so that they can establish sustainable life changes and look forward to a more equitable future for themselves and their children. Our two-generational Transformational Housing model focuses on meeting the needs of both parents and children by creating a cohesive family unit with the resources and skills that will help them achieve a more stable and hope-filled future. Humanitri serves unhoused families in St. Louis City. Families referred to Humanitri typically include a young head of household parent, with two or more children under the age of eight, living below the poverty line. Nearly half of the clients are survivors of domestic violence and referred through a domestic violence shelter. Over the last 12 months, Humanitri served 14 families including 50 individuals with 16 adults and 34 children. With the completion of several renovation projects, more than 80 individuals will be served in 2023.

Mission

Humanitri's mission is to serve unhoused families by helping them stabilize in a safe and supportive community, providing the skills and resources needed to thrive. We accomplish this through a holistic, two-generational approach that includes temporary housing, a support network of professionals, skill-building, and resource connection.
