House of Miles East St. Louis (HOME) is a non-profit, 501c3, providing educational and cultural enrichment opportunities at the restored East St. Louis childhood home of musician extraordinaire, Miles Davis. Miles Davis is the most revered jazz trumpeter of all time, not to mention one of the most important musicians of the 20th century.
Miles Davis remains the sole ambassador of the trumpet and still represents all that is cool in music, art, fashion and style. His wide appeal also continues to cross all musical genres and demographics.

Miles Davis is one of the most innovative, influential and respected figures in the history of music. He is credited with changing the course of music four-to-five times and has been at the forefront of jazz for decades, setting trends and exploring musical styles from "bebop through cool jazz, fusion and funk". He is a timeless genius whose restless musical exploration made him a hero to many. His landmark album "Kind of Blue" remains the most significant and greatest selling jazz album of all time!
Congress unanimously honored "Kind of Blue" by the passing of H. Con. Res. 894, reaffirming the work as a national treasure.
HOME is located in the former home of Miles Davis. The historically significant property is located in the Claremont Neighborhood of East St. Louis, IL at 1701 Kansas Avenue. The home had been vacant for at least fifteen years and was in need of extensive repair.

HOME is currently in the process of completing Phase I of the restoration project, which includes all interior and exterior restoration at the museum. Phase II will include restoration of the land and areas surrounding HOME. Ultimately, HOME's footprint will include the museum, an academy, and an enrichment center housed in over 10,000 square feet in two buildings providing avenues of musical discovery to children and visitors of all ages including interactive exhibits, educational experiences, and innovative programs, both cultural and historical.

HOME's vision is to be an integral part of a comprehensive plan to revitalize urban areas like such to fortify the utilization of education, culture, & service to the youth & could help increase & improve school attendance & cultural awareness in the immediate community as a whole. The mission of HOME is to nurture, empower and embrace the talents of upcoming generations by reclaiming, restoring and revitalizing our values and identity. HOME is the cultural epicenter impelled and dedicated to cultivate, connect and celebrate the community through music, heritage, and art. HOME captures the timeless quality of artistry through the rejuvenation of a historical architectural treasure and transcends it into the only Cultural Music Museum in the East St. Louis metropolitan area. HOME is a sanctioned place to socialize, tour, and develop artistic /cultural skills, which will impact many lives. HOME nurtures generations of talent by addressing historical, cultural, and educational needs. HOME seeks to develop, showcase, and celebrate the music industry and artistic desires of our community through youth development and evolution.
