Heartlinks Grief Center

A nonprofit organization

Heartlinks Grief Center is proud to operate as the only full-service grief counseling and support program for all ages in Southwestern Illinois and the St. Louis metropolitan area. The program that began as single home visits to children has grown to providing grief support services for almost 3,300 community members each year.

We provide individual and family grief counseling, anticipatory loss counseling, as well as ongoing assessment and evaluation for all clients. Heartlinks provides programs off-site including peer-support group counseling and consultation in area schools designed to expand the care that grieving children in our community receive. As a community-funded organization, we do not bill insurance and do not have a fee for our services. We encourage clients and community members to donate to keep our program open and available to all who need it.

In 2023, Heartlinks saw a 68.7% increase in the request for counseling from NEW clients. We served over 90 different zip codes within the St. Louis & Metro East area last year alone. Our in-school grief support programs continues to grow, with more and more school districts requesting groups for their schools. Heartlinks' mission is growing quickly!
