Gateway Festival Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

Gateway Festival Orchestra presents dynamic programs designed to engage and inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds—from young children and families to teenagers, young adults, and seniors. Our concerts are always free of charge, fully accessible, and welcoming to everyone, ensuring that no one is excluded from the enriching experience of live classical music.

We believe that the joy of beauty and human connection through music is a vital part of life, especially when cultivated from the earliest years. To support this belief, our chamber music series brings live classical performances directly into underserved communities, sharing the excitement and wonder of classical music with young children who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it.

Each summer, we take pride in featuring talented young soloists, offering them a unique and invaluable opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside our professional orchestra. This experience helps nurture the next generation of musicians and builds meaningful connections between emerging artists and the community.

Through these carefully crafted initiatives, Gateway Festival Orchestra is dedicated to cultivating a deep, lifelong love of classical music within our community—enriching lives and inspiring audiences for generations to come.

Mission

The mission of the Gateway Festival Orchestra is to bring quality symphonic and chamber music to the greater St. Louis community, especially to children and youth, the elderly and the disadvantaged, through free public performances. Established in 1964, the 55-piece Orchestra has provided free concerts for 60 years.
