$3,000 Goal

Dignity, empowerment, community...these are the three things Forai seeks to support and foster among refugee women in the St. Louis area. This comes through skill-building, mentoring, fostering friendship and income generation.

In 2009 Forai (Friends of Refugees and Immigrants) began reaching out to refugee and immigrant women resettled in St Louis to give them hope. We invited them into a partnership with American volunteers to produce marketable handcrafts and earn dignified income in safe working conditions to support their families. Our sewing and jewelry-making programs help the most vulnerable women in our community overcome high barriers to employment, learn job skills, earn income, and become more integrated into the St. Louis community.

Mission

Forai, Inc., is a faith-based, Christian 501(c)3 organization partnering with local refugee and immigrant women to enable the realization of economic, educational, and social goals through training and peer support, and by expanding market opportunities for artisans.

Join us in creating pathway of hope for resettled refugee women. Help us onboard two new artisans and keep our artisans in community, learning new skills, and earning fair wages!
