Dutchtown South Community Corporation

A nonprofit organization

Dutchtown South Community Corporation (DSCC) was founded in 1973 to stabilize and promote growth in south St. Louis City through housing and economic development that advances community prosperity. We now serve five neighborhoods in south St. Louis, making up nearly 10% of the St. Louis City's population: Dutchtown, Gravois Park, Marine Villa, Mount Pleasant, and Benton Park West.

We've come a long way in our almost 50 years of service to the Southside. Among our areas of grassroots work is:

Housing Stabilization ~~
Preserving, building and cultivating inclusive housing
Building and rehabbing affordable and market-rate homes
Modeling excellent rental and property management
Fostering responsible tenant-landlord relations

Sample Current Projects: Completion of an affordable single-family home sold on Osage avenue; with four (4) more homes in the queue with estimated completions in 2023/2024. We also put our experience behind our convictions and provide conscientious management of our own portfolio of rental units

Community Facilitation and Convening ~~
Working with neighbors to create roadmaps for system-level change
Charting blueprints for vibrant spaces
Converting local data to action
Ensuring resident representation in decision-making
Integrating neighborhood initiatives toward a unified framework

Sample Current Projects: So Fresh, So Clean, So Creative Southside St. Louis Initiative funded by EPA; Gravois-Jefferson Historic Neighborhoods Plan

Mission

Advancing neighborhood vitality through community empowerment, housing stabilization, and real estate development in Gravois Park, Marine Villa, Dutchtown, Mount Pleasant, and Benton Park West.
