Dignity Period is a not-for-profit organization based in St. Louis, MO, whose mission is to keep girls in school by ensuring that they have access to quality menstrual hygiene products and education.
How Our Program Works:
Dignity Period believes that change can happen through a comprehensive solution to the challenges facing girls and women. We focus on three key areas of work:
Research, Pads & Education: Dignity Period conducts research through collaborative partnerships that measure the impact of readily accessible menstrual hygiene supplies for girls and women. We set out to impact the attitudes and culture surrounding menstruation and washable / reusable products. We provide education to close the knowledge gap of what happens, why it happens and how to manage it. Then, we supply girls and women with pad kits that include 4 reusable pads.
Our Results:
In 2021 Dignity Period reached over 25 schools, worked with collaborative organizations in several states and provided 3800 individuals with washable / reusable pad kits. Our goal is to reach over 15,000 girls and women in 2022.
The mission of Dignity Period is to impact period poverty around the globe by improving access to accurate menstrual information and distributing high-quality washable/reusable menstrual hygiene products. We are motivated by the belief that those who menstruate should do so with comfort and in dignity.
