City Academy provides exceptional education to scholars age four through sixth grade. The school is the only private, independent elementary school in St. Louis and the state of Missouri providing scholarship support to all students. Community support allows City Academy to provide exceptional education to 185 students, and alumni support programs to 182 alumni. Nearly 100% of our alumni high school graduates matriculate into college. 90% of our sixth grade graduates matriculate into other private, independent schools in St. Louis.

City Academy's focus on STEAM brings experiential projects into all of our classrooms. Students develop cross-curricular connections that foster critical, creative thinking through hands-on projects that incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math with art. All City Academy students are immersed in Spanish language instruction through hands-on, cultural activities. All students in grades first through sixth receive their very own violin and violin instruction.
"In fourth grade, I was on a sixth grade math level and was able to take math class with sixth graders. In fifth and sixth grade, I was given an independent math curriculum which allowed me to continue advancing at my own pace. I also participated in the robotics program every year and loved creating robots even at a young age. But the main thing that City Academy has taught me is to be there for others. They have always been there for me. The school is committed to their alumni which is why so many of us come back to volunteer. I want to continue to pay it forward and give back to the community and the world." Ronald S. '10 (John Burroughs '16, Columbia University)

"Because of City Academy, I scored in the 95th percentile on the ACT, completed over 2,500 volunteer hours, and received a full tuition John B. Ervin scholarship to the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University." Olivia M. '09 (MICDS '16, Washington University in St. Louis)

"My teachers made sure that we not only learned the classroom material but also understood it. They were always available to assist me with anything I needed help with. Plus, they made science and math fun." Winston S. '10 (Saint Louis Priory '16, University of Missouri-Kansas City)

"It's because of City Academy and the Strive for College program why I'm at Washington University. City Academy and Strive allowed me to form a strong bond with my mentor, attend a college business class with her while I was still in high school, and receive top honors when I graduated high school." Stephanie B. '09 (Cleveland High School '15, Washington University in St. Louis)

"This I believe: if you try, you will not fail. I have been able to learn from all of my mistakes because of the incredible teachers and education at City Academy. And because this school believed in me, I am able to attend a great secondary school." Makyla S. '16 (Crossroads '22)
