Caring for Kids, Inc.

Caring for Kids provides beds and cribs for children who have never had a bed of their own; often sleeping on couches, floors, and in beds with multiple siblings and adults. We remove infants and children from co-sleeping situations, taking them away from the possible dangers of roll-over suffocation, and prevent experiencing or witnessing sexual, drug and alcohol abuse. If a child is in foster care, the home can be licensed, giving the child and family the stability that every kid craves. We provide kids school uniforms and clothing to help prevent bullying and keep them in school, and we provide food for our kids so there will be snacks when they get home from school and healthy dinners in the evenings. We send special needs kids to camps, and we provide funds for after school activities for kids who have often never had the opportunity to participate in sports or other enriching activities. We provide car seats for safe transportation. If a child needs remedial help, we'll do that as well, and if a kiddo wants to go to a special program with his class--like Six Flags--we'll even help with that. We help with fees for high school equivalency exams or college entrance exams. We'll purchase prom dresses and rent tuxes so these deserving young men and women can attend prom with their classmates or proudly walk across a stage to often be the first person in their family to graduate. We buy bus passes or cab vouchers so young moms and dads can get to court-ordered appointments and to their jobs, which evenutally helps parents and their children to be reunited. We provide school supplies to support their education and learning. The list goes on and on, and we try to fill every request we receive, as long as the request fits our mission we will fill the request within 5 working days so that our kids don't have to wait.
