The Lupus Foundation of America is a national force dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy. With the help of informed volunteers, lupus medical experts, and committed and caring supporters, we:

• Support research and conduct education programs so everyone affected by lupus can have an improved quality of life.
• Provide information to ensure people with lupus and their families get answers and health professionals know about new means to diagnose and manage the disease.
• Conduct activities to increase awareness of lupus, rally public support for those who are affected by lupus, and advocate on their behalf.

About the Lupus Foundation of America, Heartland Chapter
The Heartland Chapter provides programs and services for the estimated 50,000 people living with lupus in Missouri, eastern Kansas and southern Illinois. We provide a variety of programs and services throughout our chapter territory including:

• Monthly support groups;
• Educational workshops and teleconferences;
• Annual half-day lupus conferences;
• Summer camp for girls with lupus; and
• Lupus information, physician referrals, resources, and patient assistance.
