Social media is a major part of the lives of young people worldwide. Social media content can influence what young people believe about themselves. It can help them connect with a virtual community that fuels their creativity. It can also make young people feel isolated, lonely, and dissatisfied.
Our Teacher-Mentors, part teacher and part life coach, interrupt those negative feelings by being present and involved with our students. Teacher-Mentors help students discover their strengths and build character and resilience. They help students believe in their awesome potential and develop habits that lead to success today and tomorrow.
After just three semesters, our students demonstrate growth in their ability to manage their emotions and think critically. Their grades improve. They develop leadership skills. Before long, our students expect to have a great future because they see their hard work paying off now. They envision a better future for themselves and create action steps to achieve goals that lead to higher education, training, and employment.
