Hairy Styles and Halle

When I moved to St Louis this past August, I was thrilled to discover that there was a dog shelter just a few blocks from my apartment. Every morning on my runs, I would see the caregivers walking different dogs (always recognizable from the double leashes). Once I got back to my apartment, I would look on Stray Rescue’s website to try and figure out which dog I had seen that morning  

After two months of watching from a far, I started volunteering at Stray Rescue. I haven’t looked back since. 

Stray Rescue opens its doors to dogs that no other organization will help. These dogs are often bred, beaten, fought, injured, abandoned, and betrayed. No matter the time or cost, they help those most in need.

As a volunteer and member of the Rehabilitation Enrichment Program, I am able to work with some truly incredible dogs. We go to parks, take long walks to the arch, and drive around St Louis. The time away from the shelter gives them a chance to decompress and stretch their legs
