Mental health affects every family, every workplace, and every community. In fact, 1 in 5 adults and 1 and 7 youth (ages 6-17) experience a mental health condition in their lifetime, and 1 and 3 report experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Following the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, these numbers continue to rise, making access to FREE support more important than ever.
At NAMI St. Louis, we believe Mental Health for All means ensuring no one has to face these challenges alone.
OUR GOALS
Advocate at the county, state and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing, education, and employment for all people regardless of mental health status or conditions.
* Educate the public about mental health conditions.
* Work to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
* Advocate for increased funding for research into the causes and treatment of mental health conditions.
What good are we doing?
NAMI St. Louis directly impacts the individuals and families across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Lincoln County, Warren County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County.
In 2025 alone, NAMI St. Louis served more than 53,000 individuals across our region.
Here's how your support makes a difference:
• Ending the Silence - This in-school mental health presentation helps middle and high school students recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, understand early warning signs, and know how to seek help. Since 2018, we have reached nearly 50,000 students, staff, and families through more than 2,000 presentations. In 2025 alone, we served 7,934 students, staff, and caregivers through 326 presentations.

• Family & Peer Support Groups - NAMI St. Louis hosted 183 FREE support groups in 2025, serving more than 1,428 individuals and family members. These confidential groups create safe spaces for people to share struggles, hope, and healing.
• Community Mental Health Presentations - We provided 52 presentations to workplaces, faith communities, and organizations, reaching 1,988 individuals with education and resources about mental health.
• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) - Since 2003, NAMI St. Louis has partnered with law enforcement agencies across Eastern Missouri to improve crisis response for individuals experiencing mental health crises. Through 237 classes, we have trained more than 8,000 officers and first responders with the tools needed to de-escalate volatile situations and create safer outcomes for everyone involved. In 2025 alone, we trained 502 officers and first responders through 22 in-person trainings.
• HelpLine Support - In 2025, our team responded to 1,393 Helpline calls and emails, connecting individuals and families to vital mental health resources, guidance, and hope when they needed it most.
• Community Engagement - In 2025, we engaged more than 2,800 community members at NAMI St. Louis events, helping expand awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen connections around mental health across our region.
• Volunteer Impact - We worked with 208 dedicated volunteers who gave 2,464 hours of their time in support of our mission in 2025. Their passion and commitment help us reach more families and strengthen our community every day.
