About the Gateway Festival Orchestra

Welcome to the Gateway Festival Orchestra! Since 1964, we have enriched St. Louis with free, high-quality symphonic and chamber music, especially for children, youth, seniors, and those facing disadvantages.

Bringing People Together Through Music
Believing that music is a universal language, we create joyful moments and foster community connections. Here’s what we offer:

  • Summer Concerts: Enjoy free family-friendly concerts each July featuring outstanding conductors.
  • Young Artist Program: Providing performance opportunities for local youth (ages 12–22).
  • Active Listener Program: Bringing live music to libraries, schools, and senior centers since 1994.
  • Library Chamber Concerts: Intimate performances at local libraries to inspire all ages.

Committed to inclusivity, GFO has performed nearly 300 concerts throughout St. Louis, connecting people through the power of music. Join us and experience the joy of music in your community!

Mission

The mission of the Gateway Festival Orchestra is to bring quality symphonic and chamber music to the greater St. Louis community, especially to children and youth, the elderly and the disadvantaged, through free public performances. Established in 1964, the 55-piece Orchestra has provided free concerts for over 60 years.
