Our programs consist of the Deployment Package, Family Assistance Program -Tuition, Emergency and
Childcare, LPE Military Youth Tour - that includes Military Kids Fit For Life and our Bikes For Military
Kids, LPE School Supply Program and our Holiday giving Program. Our main goal is to teach life skills
and to recognize Military children through our programs.
The Deployment Package is designed for our Military families experiencing a deployment. Our package
includes items that give emotional support to the spouse and children of our deployed service members.
Research shows that items similar to those in our package help meet the needs of people in similar stressrelated situations.
The Family Financial Assistance Program provides financial support in times of family crisis. When a
family member is deployed that sudden loss of family support can be devastating and can sometimes lead
to a family crisis. LPE uses these funds on an as needed basis to provide financial assistance for
children's summer camp, family emergencies and child care.
The Youth Development Program is comprised of Military Kids Fit for Life (launched 2013) & Project
Bear Essentials (launched 2010). Military Kids Fit for Life (ages 5-17) is an anti-bully platform that
emphasizes the importance of stress management through fitness, self-awareness, safety and the program
teaches skills to assist with some of life's challenges. Project Bear Essentials is designed to assist parents
as they attempt to help reduce the stress that young children (age 3-12) experience when a loved one is
deployed for an extended period. It also recognizes the children for their service. Our goal is to give
them a day that recognizes them for serving our country.
Our School Supply and Holiday Giving programs collect donations year round. We encourage local
businesses, churches, organizations and sports teams to organize and collect items. The School Supply
Drive's main collection time is June through August 1st. We collect school supplies to be given to
Military youth in the St. Louis region. The LPE Toy Drive's main collection is October 15th through
November 30th. We collect toys, books, games and gift cards for children age newborn to 17 years old
and deliver for Christmas.
