Halo for Animals is a support group working alongside the City of Sullivan and the Sullivan Police Department to help care for the pets housed at the city’s animal control facility. These pets do not belong to Halo—we simply help ensure they receive the care and support they need while they are in the pound.
The city provides a rabies vaccination, but any additional veterinary care, whether treating an illness, addressing an injury, or preparing a pet for adoption, is funded through donations to Halo. Your support helps meet this need and ensures the city’s pound pets have a better chance of finding a forever home.
Halo's mission includes promoting spay/neuter. We offer adopters a certificate to help cover part of the cost of spaying or neutering their newly adopted pet, or in most cases, provide the surgery before adoption. Donations have also helped improve the city’s facility and create a more comfortable environment while pets wait to be reunited with their families or find new homes.
Halo volunteers help connect potential adopters with pound pets in need of homes. Halo holds adoption events and is able to assist with city adoption paperwork outside of animal control hours. Volunteers spend quality time with the pets, offering them companionship and care while they wait for their forever homes.
We are proud to be celebrating 20 years of helping pound pets find their way home!
