Coeur Academy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves to be understood before they are expected to succeed. What began as one mother’s decision to leave her career as a Special Education teacher to support her own children grew into something much larger. As she opened her home to learning, other families—whose children had been overlooked or misunderstood in traditional settings—found their way to her. With the support of another mother who shared this vision, Coeur Academy was born as a place where differences are recognized, communication is honored, and students are truly seen.

Today, Coeur Academy brings learning to life through a team of dedicated professionals who integrate art, music, outdoor exploration, play, and functional life skills into each day. Learning here is dynamic and responsive—staff continually adapt instruction to meet students where they are, helping them first build regulation, confidence, and coping skills in a safe environment. From there, students are supported in developing the tools they need to engage with the larger community, in ways that are authentic and meaningful to them.
